Déise Philippine Appeal
The container has finally arrived in the Philippines. These are some of the pictures of the people unloading the goods. This is the message they sent to Audrey Hallahan about it.
Dearest Susan and Audrey, the containers finally were let go out from the port area!!! You cannot imagine how difficult it was to do this!
Then the owner of the trucks went with us to do an ispection of the road and the place where to unload, to see if it is safe. Specially for the narrow roads and the wires of electricity an telephone, because the containers are very big!
Yesterday evening until night many people were working to unload everything, and going on today.
I will send some pictures.
Then we will divide all this goods according to the needs of the different island: Tacloban - Leyte, Bohol, north of Cebu (Bantayan), and Panay Island. And we will organize shipping of the goods to reach the different places. I will keep you updated.
Thank you so much for all your effort!!!!

Congratulations and well done everybody. We filled not one but TWO trailers of supplies for the Déise Philippine Appeal. Audrey was delighted and was overwhelmed by your generosity. You can be very proud of your efforts. This is what she wrote about us on Facebook.....We have to say this....We have never been so overwhelmed in our lives as we were today when we went down to Kilmacthomas Primary School to collect what we thought was a "few bags" for this appeal....we were shocked into silence by the sheer volume collected by each and every pupil, staff and familes.... The compassion, kindness and generosity of each and everyone of you will be remembered by the Philippine people for a long time to come, and indeed by us. A HUGE thank you to Sheila, Breda and Staff for their initiative, organisation and delivery of an outstanding successful collection.... xxxxxxxx
